1. Introduction:
This document includes important information regarding your summative assessment.
Please read this document in full and refer to it while preparing your assignment.
This coursework will be marked on a scale of 100 and constitutes 100% of your module
assessment.
Please note that this is an individual coursework.
The module assignment is designed to support students’ learning by giving them the

manager in supporting value creation and project success.
2. Assessment Brief:
The Google Headquarters, Kings Cross London
Global ‘tech’ giant Google is building its first wholly owned building outside the United States
in London, Kings Cross. The purpose-built 11-storey building will provide over 1 million square
feet of commercial and office space, of which Google will occupy approximately 650,000
square feet. The new building dubbed ‘Landscraper’ will be 72 metres tall at its highest point,
and 330m long. The building is expected to provide office accommodation for up to 4,500
employees of Google. The building will also provide ancillary spaces including cafes, a gym,
multi-use games areas as well as landscaped terraces and a running track on the rooftop. The
concept design is led by Heatherwick Studio and Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and is expected to
be developed in highly innovative and sustainable way to support future ways of working.
This new development is expected to contribute to the Knowledge Quarter and King’s Cross’s
growing knowledge-based economy. The project is also viewed as a major part of
regeneration plans in the Kings Cross area. Planning permission was granted by Camden
Council in 2017 with project completion expected at the end of 2024.
