Your company has raised some US dollars by selling treasury bonds with a time to
maturity of 5 years.
Primary task: With the US dollars that you have raised:
• You company intends to make portfolio investment
totalling JPY 5bn.
• You need to raise GBP 60 m for making lease payments
for your retail stores in the UK.
Note: The funds must be acquired as cheaply as possible
Upon completion of this task please take screenshots of:
• Banks’ quotations for each transaction
• Your transaction logs
• Account summary
Secondary task: Use ALL currency pairs from your group’s stage 1 market view
reports, execute the speculation strategies based on your expectation of the
movements of exchange rates for the next six months.
You and your group members are allocated 40 million units of each currency as the
initial balance for your speculation strategy if you are speculating on AUD, GBP,
NZD, or USD and 4 billion units if you are speculating on JPY.
For instance, if you are speculating on AUD/USD and AUD/GBP and decided to short
the USD and long GBP, then you have been allocated 40 million USDs and 40 million
AUDs for this purpose.
You can trade a maximum of 20m per transaction for all currencies except JPY
You can trade a maximum of 2bn per transaction for JPY
At the conclusion of secondary task, you are required to take screenshots of:
• Banks’ quotations for each transaction
• Your transactions
• Account summary
